Recruit More Volunteers
Hands On Projects
A Hands On Nashville Project Coordinator can lead a
done-in-a-day project at your agency. This program
offers a unique way to help agencies meet their
short term and one-time volunteer needs by relieving
the burden of recruitment and supervision, while
providing a group of volunteers on a consistent and
regular basis. Each month, approximately 200-300
volunteers participate in 30-35 different
done-in-a-day projects. Hands On Projects are listed
on our online project calendar, where volunteers can
easily sign up and receive project information.
Projects are also advertised via email and print to
our growing network of volunteers. Learn more.
www.hon.org
List your ongoing and special event volunteer
opportunities on Nashville’s premier online
volunteer matching and referral database. Volunteers
can search your opportunities by issue, skill, or
geographic region – ensuring that you get the right
person for every job. All agency listings are
managed by the agency and can be updated quickly and
easily. Our website received 33,775 hits last year!
Hands On Call E-Blast

Good@Work
Hands On Nashville works with companies of all sizes

Increase Visibility
Corporate Caring Guide
We coordinate with the Nashville Business
Journal to produce the Corporate Caring
Guide to Nonprofit Agencies, a comprehensive
directory of volunteer opportunities designed to
connect corporate volunteers to area nonprofit
organizations. The guide is distributed as an insert
in the journal and distributed to 32,000 readers in
the Middle Tennessee region.
Holiday Volunteer Guide
Every holiday season inspires a tremendous surge
in volunteer interest. We publicize our Holiday
Volunteer Guide in late October to hundreds of
companies and civic groups, as well as over 3,000
individuals. The guide is posted to our website and
is also available in hard copy.
Youth Volunteer Guide
Did you know that children and youth who
volunteer are twice as likely to volunteer as
adults? This guide serves as a resource to students,
youth groups, youth workers, and parents who are
searching for outlets and information on community
youth involvement.
Online Partner Directory
Partners are listed in the agency directory on
our website. Information available in the listing
includes agency name, mission, and contact
information.
Access Valuable Volunteer
Management Resources
Training and Consulting
Services
Hands On Nashville partners with the
Center
for Nonprofit Management
(CNM) and the
Volunteer Administrators’ Network (VAN) to
provide an array of volunteer management training
and consulting services. From informal brown bag
lunches, to day-long training classes, to customized
one-on-one consulting, Hands On Nashville strives to
assist nonprofit organizations and schools with
their volunteer management needs.
Volunteer Recognition
Every agency has its volunteer stars--those
selfless individuals who dedicate their time to
improving the lives of others. We know that the
number one reason people continue to volunteer is
that someone says, “thanks”. Hand On Nashville helps
you recognize your volunteers by managing the
Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteers of the Year Awards. This annual ceremony
recognizes Middle Tennessee’s most committed and
effective volunteers and provides an easy way for
you to say thanks to those who help so much.
Partner E-Newsletter
Quarterly eNewsletter that provides information
on trends in volunteer management, best practices,
recognition opportunities and giveaways, large group
opportunities, and resources in the Nashville area
and beyond.
