Hands On
Nashville coordinates programmatic special events core
to our mission of enabling us to expand the reach of our
services and involve more volunteers.
-
Hands On Nashville
Day is held each
fall and is the city's largest day of volunteer service
benefiting Metro Nashville Public Schools. Over
1,200 volunteers spend a morning painting, landscaping,
and improving 60+ public schools. These adult teams of volunteers come from companies, faith groups, civic organizations and many other community groups. Hands
On Nashville Day is scheduled for Saturday, September 27,
2008.
- The
Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteers of the Year Awards
recognizes individuals and groups who have selflessly given
their time and talents to improve the lives of others in
Middle Tennessee. Several hundred volunteers are nominated
for the five annual awards and celebrated at a recognition luncheon.
The awards luncheon will be held April 16, 2008 at
the Franklin/Cool Springs Marriott. If you would like to
make a nomination,

accepted through Friday, February 22, 2008.
