Hands On Nashville is proud to present the Mary
Catherine Strobel Volunteer Awards. Since its
1985 inception, the Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer
Awards have grown to become Middle Tennessee’s
largest, annual luncheon that recognizes individuals and
groups who have selflessly given their time and talent
to improve the community and its residents’ overall
quality of life. Awards are given to outstanding
individual volunteers and volunteer groups in five
categories – volunteer innovator, direct service
volunteer, community-wide volunteer, youth volunteer,
and volunteer group.
These awards are named in honor of Mary Catherine
Strobel, a community volunteer known for her compassion
and generosity. Throughout her life, Mrs. Strobel led
many charity efforts in Middle Tennessee and worked each
day to serve homeless, impoverished, and sick
individuals. The Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Awards
ceremony was created to honor her memory and to
celebrate the legacy of this inspiring woman.
