Autism Learn to Swim Class
The Nashville Dolphins provide year-round swim instruction, training, competition, social activities and travel at no cost to children and adults with disabilities, giving them life-long opportunities to develop physical fitness, build confidence, develop friendships and experience the joy and pride of being on a team.
If you would like to volunteer to be a coach, we welcome you participate in a short training session with us before the first class. You will learn how to work in the water with special needs individuals and you will be a part of teaching a child to swim. Because these individuals have little fear and are naturally attracted to water, drowning is a leading cause of accidental death. The Dolphins hope to prevent these kinds of accidents by teaching water safety and basic swimming skills.
We will offer several programs in the fall, winter and spring from which to choose once you have been trained.
