MAC Summer Food Service Program
We are in need of reliable volunteers to assist with Metro Action Commission’s Summer Food Service Program. This program is designed to ensure that children who normally receive meals through the Free and Reduced Lunch Program during the school year, receive nutritious meals during the summer.
Lunches are served each Monday through Friday in June and July. These are two hour volunteer shifts with the lunches typically arriving between 11:00 and 11:30; the kids arrive to eat about noon, and are finished by 1 p.m.
Duties include: serving the food, keeping track of the numbers served, maintaining order amongst the kids during the lunch and overseeing the kids cleaning up.
You may choose to work as many or few days as you are able. You will be given an exact location after speaking with the Opportunity Coordinator.
