Opportunity Details

Nashville Dolphins Tuesday Swim Practice

The Nashville Dolphins provide year-round swim instruction, training, competition, social activities and travel at no cost to children and adults with disabilities, giving them life-long opportunities to develop physical fitness, build confidence, develop friendships and experience the joy and pride of being on a team.

If you would like to volunteer to be a coach, we welcome you to train with us. You will learn how to work in the water with special needs individuals and you will be a part improving their swim skills.

We will offer several programs in the fall, winter and spring from which to choose once you have been trained.

On Tuesday evenings throughout the school year we practice from 6:30-7:30 pm at the GJCC indoor pool. Volunteers will help the Lead Coach keep swimmers on task and encourage them as they practice their strokes. No suits are required, although we welcome anyone who would like to get in and coach from the water, especially for our younger swimmers. Our volunteers create great bonds and friendships with our swimmers.

We are ultimately seeking consistent volunteers who can attend most practices throughout the season.
