Youth Center Kitchen Volunteer

Bridges's Youth Center is looking for a volunteer that enjoys preparing food and cooking. 

Duties include:
- keeping a supply inventory of the pantry and the refrigerator
- putting together a weekly meal-plan for after-school students taking into account nutrition and dietary needs
- making a list of needed supplies and giving them to the youth center assistant to purchase the items
- preparing and serving the food to the students
- cleaning up the kitchen and monitoring the multi-purpose room for cleanliness

An assistant to help with kitchen duties will be provided.

Time Commitment:
The days and times for this position are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or when the responsibilities are completed. Bridges asks for a commitment to a regular schedule for a minimum of one school year August to May.

Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn some basic American Sign Language
- Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds and various degrees of deafness
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Desire to work with children
- Ability to cook and prepare a basic tasty meal (Basic cooking skills are sufficient for this position!)
- Dependability is a must
- A background check is required

Training will be provided on our kitchen equipment and practices.
