Blind Golfing
Calling all you golfers out there! Ever thought about playing a round of golf with your eyes closed? Here is your chance to assist members of Middle TN Council of the Blind and students from the TN School for the Blind as they enjoy an evening at the driving range as part of the Middle Tennessee Blind Golf Program. Members will meet on the second Tuesday at Gaylord Springs Golf Links and the fourth Tuesday at Hermitage Golf Course driving range from May to October.
Volunteers will assist with lining up the golfer and placing the ball at the club face. After they hit the ball, they will need to describe where the ball went and how far. Participants are always open to tips and suggestions to help improve their swing. Volunteers do not need to be good golfers, but any golf knowledge is helpful. A golf professional is present to assist golfers and volunteers each week.
