OLD Teen Chef
The Heimerdinger Foundation is dedicated to educating the Nashville community about proper nutrition, healthy meal options and providing nutrient-rich meals to patients fighting cancer through our Meals 4 Health and Healing program.
Purpose
To educate teens about proper nutrition and encourage them to choose healthier meal options. To help prepare meals for Meals 4 Health and Healing program clients.
Essential Duties
Adult Mentor Chef, Kitchen Manager and the Meals 4 Health and Healing
Volunteer Qualifications
Volunteer orientation and training is required before volunteering. Volunteer orientation is held the third Tuesday of every month.

To educate teens about proper nutrition and encourage them to choose healthier meal options. To help prepare meals for Meals 4 Health and Healing program clients.
Essential Duties
- Washing and chopping vegetables or herbs.
- Cooking meals using Meals 4 Health and Healing recipes under the guidance of an Adult Mentor Chef.
- Packaging meals for Meals 4 Health and Healing clients.
- Washing and sanitizing dishes.
- Assisting with cleaning the kitchen.

Volunteer Qualifications
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be dependable and work scheduled shifts.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Basic cooking skills.
- How nutrition affects health.
- Food safety and sanitation.
- Team building skills.
- Leadership skills (teen leaders can earn a chef coat).
- How they can help others.
