Grow Production Gardens with The Nashville Food Project (Wedgewood)

The Nashville Food Project gardens are vibrant growing spaces that supply organic produce for our meal programs and growing spaces for numerous families that are part of our Community Garden programs. Whether you are an experienced farmer  or have never stepped foot in a garden, we welcome and encourage all skill levels to join us in working our gardens.

We are a full-circle organization; growing, cooking, and sharing meals allows us to get food from local soil to local people, and your help in our gardens is the first step in making the whole process possible. The produce you help us grow and harvest will go into delicious meals shared with more than 23 nonprofit partners and community organizations throughout Nashville.

Garden tasks vary with the seasons and may include planting, weeding, composting and harvesting. We love to share all sorts of gardening knowledge while we work. You will have the chance to get your hands (and everything else) dirty, so dress for the occasion. We recommend boots or closed toe shoes and layers if the weather is chilly. Garden projects will occur rain or shine (with the exception of lightning!) so bring a rain jacket and hat. We’ll provide the gloves, but you’re always welcome to bring your own. We can’t wait to welcome you to one of our gardens!

Please note that due to the natural setting of our garden plots, there is uneven terrain that may be difficult to navigate for folks with mobility limitations. Additionally, while there are port-a-pot facilities for participant use, they are not ADA accessible at this site. If you need special accommodations to participate, please don't hesitate to reach out to elizabeth@thenashvillefoodproject.org prior to your volunteer time and our team will do our best to make necessary arrangements.

TNFP strives to create a welcoming environment for all people. Our mission, values, and statement of anti-racism can be found here: https://www.thenashvillefoodproject.org/learn-more
