Deliver Hot Meals and Hope
Deliver hot meals and hope with Martha O’Bryan Center! Meals on Wheels is a program designed to deliver hot meals to homebound senior citizens. Each month, MOBC volunteers deliver over 1200 meals. Each weekday we deliver meals on along 4 different routes, meaning we need 20 volunteers per week to make it happen! Volunteers must have a car to transport meals. You will be driving around various neighborhoods in East Nashville. Each volunteer will receive a map with detailed instructions for each delivery. Routes vary in time and length; usually routes take a little over an hour. This is a simple yet rewarding way to volunteer. It can be easily done on a lunch break! Without this food, these senior citizens would have no other means for food, and sometimes this is their only human contact. Many of our volunteers deliver on a weekly or monthly basis; however, this is not required. By signing up for a route, you are committing to show up on that day. Each opening on Hands on Nashville represents an open route. You are welcome to bring friends to deliver with you! If you have questions, please contact Kristi Newton using the email link below before signing up for a route.
