Opportunity Details

Mentor High School ESL Students

Encourage academic and personal growth for high school students dealing with homework, college prep and the challenges of fitting in to a new environment. Knowledge of a particular subject (history, algebra, geometry, chemistry, art, English etc.) is appreciated but not required.

Volunteers will work one on one and in small groups with students to complete homework assignments, study for tests, build resumes, apply for college/FAFSA, practice English, and much more. Volunteers will also be able to get to know students personally over the course of the semester. 

The program operates Monday and Wednesday 2:30 - 4:30pm at Antioch High School and Tuesday and Thursday 2:30 - 4:30pm at Glencliff High School. 

Volunteers should plan to commit to one afternoon weekly for the semester.
