Cummins HES Projects 2014
Hands On Nashville’s Home Energy Savings Program engages volunteers in making energy-efficiency upgrades in homes owned by Nashvillians in need. This program costs nothing for homeowners, and focuses primarily on homes in North and East Nashville.
Be a part of the solution by joining us for this project! No experience is necessary, as our enthusiastic and skilled team will guide you along the way. All you need is a willingness to learn!
Your volunteerism will help reduce the utility burden for homeowners who must often choose between paying utility bills and buying food/medicine. You will even learn tips for making energy-efficiency upgrades in your own home! Repairs will include installing attic & basement insulation, weather stripping doors and windows, installing low-flow shower heads, and other upgrades. **Please wear comfortable work clothes and closed-toe shoes. Lunch, water, and snacks will be provided.
This project supports two efforts of the office of Mayor Karl Dean: Impact Nashville's Service Plan and the Office of Environment and Sustainability. The goal is to reduce the city's greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020. Impact Nashville mobilizes volunteers to assist with the city's greatest needs in the areas of environment and education.
