YVC: Sort Food at Second Harvest
The Emergency Food Box and Grocery Rescue Programs are integral to supporting individuals and families who are hungry in Middle Tennessee. Youth volunteers are needed to sort perishable food, which is stored in a refrigerated room. And because it is a refrigerated room, a light jacket and gloves will feel good. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes in order to participate. This project does not qualify for court ordered community service hours.
If you would like to sign up a group or a youth 11-12 years old, please contact ashleigh@hon.org.
This project is open to volunteers ages 11 to 18. All youth volunteers are required to have a Volunteer Liability Release Form on file prior to attending a HON Youth Volunteer Corps project. Please note: this form must only be completed one time, and will be kept on file by Hands On Nashville for future projects. When completing the form, a parent must be present to provide an e-signature.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 11+, Minimum Age:11+, Maximum Age:18
