Food Bank Prep
Food Bank Volunteers help unload food delivery trucks on Monday mornings 7 to 8:30 a.m. and Thursday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Volunteers also assist with stocking shelves and preparing emergency food boxes for our customers.
These food boxes are critical to our community members in need. Cayce Place is considered a "food desert" because there is limited access to grocery stores and other food sources. The nearest grocery store is over an hour away by public transportation.
The Food Bank can be a fast-paced environment, so come ready to work, and be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get a little dirty. During the summer, the Food Bank will get hot. Be sure to dress appropriately! Some heavy lifting may be required.
