2014 Harvest Assistants
Harvest at Cheekwood kicks off Saturday, September 27 and continues through late October. On Saturdays during Harvest, volunteers are needed to assist younger visitors with the many drop-in arts activities offered from 10:00-2:00 in the lower level studios of the Learning Center.
Volunteers will support both the instructor and the children who participate. The instructor will have planned the day’s project, focused around the bounty and beauty of the season. Volunteer responsibilities include helping set up the studio, encouraging the children as they engage in the day’s activity, and freshening the studio afterward. A brief orientation is provided before the start of the shift. Shifts are 9:45-12:15 and noon-2:15. Five to six volunteers are needed per shift.
