Dr. Martin Luther King famously said, “Everyone can be great, because everybody can serve.”

This MLK Day, honor Dr. King’s legacy by joining Hands On Nashville, in partnership with Metro Parks, to improve our community centers – one of Nashville’s most important neighborhood resources – and to learn how you and your family can safeguard yourselves by taking fire prevention measures.

Volunteers will come together on Saturday, Jan. 18 and Monday, Jan. 20 to brighten the interiors of our city's community centers with a fresh coat of paint. Fire safety education will be offered to volunteers at each project. (Did you know that home fires are America's largest disaster threat? One of the easiest ways to serve others is to ensure that you and your family are protected from the danger of fire.)

This service event is hosted in partnership with Metro Parks and Recreation, the Nashville Fire Department, and Mayor Karl Dean’s Impact Nashville initiative.
