Volunteer Driver for Seniors (60+) #UWGN

Providing a ride and a helping hand is a meaningful way to help our older neighbors stay connected to the Nashville community. We're looking for caring, reliable volunteer drivers to provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, barber and beauty shops, pharmacies, community centers and other destinations. Join people from across the county to create rides and relationships with Nashville seniors. Give a few hours and make a difference - our drivers and riders gain community and friendship!

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to transport seniors who are no longer driving. Drivers self-select rides based on their availability, location, and interest using an easy, online scheduling tool. Drivers may choose to accompany their senior rider to their appointment or run an errand of their own while they wait.

Senior Ride Nashville volunteer drivers must complete an orientation and are given a background and motor vehicle record check before driving responsibilities begin. Volunteer records are checked on a recurring basis.

The mission of Senior Ride Nashville is to enrich the lives of older adults and engage them in the community by providing affordable and assisted, volunteer-based transportation.

Hear what some of our riders have to say:
“I love SRN because it’s about more than just the ride, it’s about connecting with others.”

“What a blessing! What wonderful people! Senior Ride gives me an opportunity to go to the grocery stores, go shopping, etc. without bothering my family. These volunteers are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met.”

“Since I cannot drive, I lost some of my independence. Senior Ride has made it possible for me to regain my independence with transportation in going to doctors, therapy, and errands.”

“I was skeptical and reluctant to sign up for this help. However, now I am amazed and very thankful for this help. I’ve never met people who were more helpful, kind, and professional. What a blessing this service has been for me."
