VolunTEEN: Sort Food at Second Harvest
The Emergency Food Box and Grocery Rescue Programs are integral to supporting individuals and families who are hungry in Middle Tennessee. Youth volunteers are necessary to help sort food for Second Harvest Community Food Partners and Emergency Food Box sites. Youth volunteers are also needed to sort perishable food - both produce and food which is stored in a refrigerated room. And because it is a refrigerated room, a light jacket and gloves will feel good. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes in order to participate.Volunteers will be assigned to a specific task upon arrival, based on the Food Bank's volunteer needs that day.
If you would like to sign up a group or a youth 11-12 years old, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
This project is open to volunteers age 11 to 18. All volunteers under the age of 18 are required to bring a signed Volunteer Release Form with them to each project. Volunteers under 18 will also be asked to sign a Second Harvest Youth Volunteer Form.
