Reach & Rise Group Mentor

Do you want to be a beacon of light for the rising youth of Nashville? YMCA Reach and Rise group mentoring program is designed to be a safe, healthy, & meaningful therapeutic place for 6 mentee children to talk about life issues in a group of their peers, with 2 adult volunteer mentors in each group. The program includes a matching system to pair a mentor to a mentee group, as well as activities and goals to achieve throughout the program. This program helps build a better future for youth by matching them with two adult mentors.

As a mentor, by sharing your time and guidance, you can help your mentees express feelings, have a positive outlook for the future, become more confident, and improve at school. You’ll learn how to be a positive role model and gain a better perspective of the pressures and challenges that youth face.

Mentees are age 8-15 and have been identified as needing an adult role model. Most mentees will have an affiliation to the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. There will be a group in February for 16 weeks, June for 8 weeks, and September for 16 weeks.
