Bible Study Teacher - Begin Anew Franklin
Begin Anew is a faith-based education organization working to empower individuals to overcome obstacles caused by poverty by providing education, mentoring, and resources.
Begin Anew operates programs at four locations throughout Middle Tennessee (Woodbine, Downtown Nashville, Madison, and Franklin). Along with weekly Bible study and no-cost programming and care for our students’ children, we offer three education tracks in separate programs to men and to women:
- HSE (High School Equivalency/GED)
- ELL (English Language Learners) accommodating three levels of instruction
- Computer and Job Skills Training
Bible Study Teachers will:
- Teach a weekly Bible study for one hour to a group of students at beginner or intermediate levels of English
- Prepare the weekly lesson before class that aligns with the statement of faith of Begin Anew
- Cultivate a listening, supportive and encouraging environment in which students can share and discuss their personal beliefs and struggles
- Provide regular feedback to the Program Manager
- Develop relationships with students
- Ensure safety protocol is followed
- Uphold the mission and vision of Begin Anew
We ask that our volunteers to be comfortable working with people from different cultures and have a desire to care for students and assist them in achieving their goals. Position requires volunteers submit an application and references and complete general and position specific training.
