Weeding Wizard with The Nashville Food Project Garden
Digging into the soil and pulling weeds is relaxing and therapeutic for many people; at The Nashville Food Project, this simple act helps to alleviate hunger in our city. How? Our gardens produce a diverse array of fruits, herbs and vegetables that are utilized in our made-from-scratch meals shared with over 23 nonprofit partners. We are looking for a committed person - or group - to keep the lower perennial garden at our Wedgewood Urban Garden weeded on a monthly basis.
Your help is needed to:
- Identify and remove weeds in a beautiful perennial garden
- Prune perennials and mulch beds as needed
- Support a growing ecosystem of friendly people, insects, birds, herbs & flowers!
By volunteering as a weed wizard, you support our mission to bring people together to grow, cook, and share nourishing food with the goals of alleviating hunger and cultivating community in our city. This is a fun and intimate outdoor environment where you are sure to learn more about gardening.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:16+
