Master Gardener

The Heimerdinger Foundation is dedicated to educating the Nashville community about proper nutrition, healthy meal options and providing nutrient-rich meals to patients fighting cancer through our Meals 4 Health and Healing program.
 
The Master Gardener will:
  • Plant, weed, compost and harvest
  • Educate teens in the Teen Leadership program about the garden and organic farming.
  • Work with the chef and kitchen manager to harvest food for meals.
  • Lead volunteers in tasks or projects to assist in the garden.
A master gardener is needed for a minimum of 3 to 5 hours per week depending on the season. Volunteer shifts are available on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. We are looking for long-term volunteers to really help us maintain our garden and work with the Teen Leadership program.
 
Qualifications:
  • Must be familiar with sustainable and organic farming practices.
  • Comfortable working with teens and adults.
  • Able to communicate with volunteers and staff.
