ELL One-on-One Tutor Training (Antioch)
*This training is specifically reserved for volunteers who would be willing to be matched withh an adullt immigrant learner in Antioch.
We are looking for volunteer tutors to work with our adult immigrant learners to improve their English reading, writing, and conversational fluency. One-on-One tutors meet with their learner two to three hours per week at a public location (such as a library, community center, coffee shop, etc.) at a time of their choosing. One-on-One Tutors are required to commit to meet with their learner for at least six months. This of course doesn’t mean that a week cannot be missed; we understand people go out of town and things come up.
No prior teaching or tutoring experience is required. Please click the express interest button to start the conversation or to get more information.
The Nashville Adult Literacy Council helps adults to improve their reading and English skills, thereby improving our community. Currently one in eight Nashville adults is unable to read. The NALC is essential to the educational gains of adults across Nashville and will help build a community of adults empowered through literacy.
