Glencliff High School Garden Volunteer Session

Join us as we care for the Glencliff High School garden!

Whether you're curious about gardening, or an expert green thumb, this garden project is for you! As a volunteer, you will help: Prepare garden beds for planting, install drip irrigation, sow and harvest plants as needed, learn techniques for growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and other common vegetables, water and weed existing garden rows, and more!

No experience necessary (but if you've got it, we'll certainly put it to use!)

Families with kids and groups are welcome. Please reach out to the opportunity coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.

All volunteers under the age of 18 are required to bring a signed Volunteer Release Form with them to each project.

What to Bring/Wear:
  • Sturdy closed-toed shoes like old sneakers or boots are required.
  • Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
  • Water will be provided, but please bring your own water bottle in efforts to reduce the amount of waste we generate.
  • We'll have all the tools you'll need right on site.

About the Glencliff Garden:
This is our 16th year gardening this reclaimed tennis-court sized space behind our school! In a typical year, students in our agriculture pathway prepare seedlings in the spring and then student and community volunteers manage the garden during the summer months. All produce is harvested and distributed to local families or marketed and sold by students as part of their school-based enterprise. Any proceeds benefit activities and trips for our school’s FFA chapter. Thank you for your interest!
