Special Needs Learn-to-Swim Classes (Tuesday PM)
This group is our most basic learn to swim program. These kids have little to no swimming ability and are in the water working one on one with volunteers. Each child is working on individualized skills and classes are 30 minutes long. Volunteers will be in the water working with the swimmers. Volunteers are not required to have a swimming background. There are lead instructors in the water to train and assist the volunteers. Please watch this brief training video before volunteering with our organization https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2iKQdi_Wlg&t=27s
The mission of Dolphin Aquatics is to provide year-round swim instruction, training, competition, social activities, and travel at no cost to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them life-long opportunities to develop physical fitness, build confidence, develop friendships, and experience the joy and pride of being part of a team.
