Y-Literacy Volunteer Reading Tutor Maragret Maddox YMCA #VirtualVolunteer
Become a volunteer reading tutor with the Margaret Maddox YMCA today! Currently, 2 out of 3 Metro Nashville Public School students are reading below grade level. Y-Literacy provides free one-on-one tutoring to students grades K-4 who are reading below their peers. There is no background in education needed! Our volunteers are trained to use the prescribed curriculum and provided with all the necessary materials. All it takes is a willing heart and a smiling face!
Volunteers commit to working with their student once per week for one hour. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Thursday at 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 or 6:00 pm or Fridays at 1:00 or 2:00 pm.

This program is designed to be face-to-face, but for the time being has transitioned to virtual. Please express interest below to learn more.
