Meal Prep at The Nashville Food Project, California Ave

Located at TNFP's new headquarters, our California Ave kitchen is a bustling of activity as our team works to create countless meals and snacks weekly to be shared along the programming of our partner non-profits!

With over 3,000 pounds of donated, rescued, and high quality locally grown food coming into our kitchens every week we need energetic and creative volunteers to help process it all for our meals program!
During meal prep volunteers can expect tasks such as washing and chopping fruits and vegetables, making salads, homemade salad dressings and creative healthy snacks. We work in partnership with 30+ organizations to provide 5500 nutritious meals to children, seniors, veterans, and families every week.

Each meal prep session will be led by enthusiastic staff and all gloves, aprons, and instructions are provided.

As you will be working in a commercial kitchen setting, we ask that all participants wear closed toed shoes and plan to have any longer hair pulled back throughout their volunteer time.

Participants will have access to an All Gender restrooms during their service time and our headquarters is ADA accessible for folks with mobility limitations. If you need special accommodations to participate, please reach out to elizabeth@thenashvillefoodproject.org prior to your service experience so we can make appropriate arrangements! Stools and cut gloves are available upon request.

TNFP strives to create a welcoming environment for all people. Our mission, values, and statement of anti-racism can be found here: https://www.thenashvillefoodproject.org/learn-more
