Grab the Litter and Keep our Waterways Clean!
Do you want to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with service to your community? Are you looking to extend your impact beyond MLK Day? Come volunteer with Richland Creek Watershed Alliance (RCWA) and learn about how you can grab litter in your neighborhoods to prevent it from washing into our streams, creeks, and rivers! Litter is one of the most critical issues for urban waterways, as everything that that is dripped, dropped, or spilled on the pavement is washed through the storm sewer system into the waterways.
Each volunteer will get a #grabthelitter bag to take home and reuse many times, as well as facts and tips about our #grabthelitter campaign so they can continue this practice beyond MLKI day and make a lasting collective impact on our waterways. Volunteers will then independently fill their #grabthelitter bag by collecting litter along the Richland Creek Greenway (or wherever they choose). With volunteer's help, RCWA will then sort the litter into trash and recycling and take it to the proper disposal location.
