Opportunity Details

Weed Wrangle at Orchard Bend Park (Mill Creek)

Friends of Mill Creek Greenway and Mill Creek Watershed Association will be the on-site hosts for this event, which is being organized state-wide by the Garden Club of Nashville. FMCGW is working to protect and improve Mill Creek Greenway, and MCWA is working to protect and inform volunteers about Mill Creek. The work will allow native trees and shrubs to grow, and will benefit native wildlife that rely on these plants.
Volunteers should wear long pants, long-sleeve shirts, sturdy shoes/boots, work gloves, eye protection. Bring reusable filled water bottle (additional water & gloves provided- please bring extra tools if you can).
Be prepared to work as a team and pull invasive plants up by the roots.

Weed Wrangle®-Nashville volunteers will learn, practice, and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of invasive plants. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a movement that will have the greatest impact on the invasive plant population in the Nashville area.
