Friends of Shelby - Second Saturday Volunteering
Join Friends of Shelby Park for a day of beautification in Shelby Park. We will be planting trees, landscaping, mulching and cleaning the stream near the lake and events lawn. As always we'll be sharing some Shelby Park history and talking about ways to improve our park.
This activity will take place out doors and while we're approaching spring, it could be cold, so dress in layers. Work will be dirty, so please dress appropriately and wear boots. We will have gloves and tools but always feel free to bring your own - loppers, hand clippers, rake and shovels. No power tools.
Coffee, water and snacks will be provided
Founded in 2008, the Friends of Shelby is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, protection, enhancement and stewardship of Shelby Park and Shelby Bottoms. It works to protect the natural and historical integrity of the area by supporting appropriate recreational activities, maintaining and enhancing its features, promoting programs that inspire appreciation and conservation of Park and Bottoms, and advocating for a level playing field for the various user groups.
