Social Media Ambassador #VirtualVolunteer

The Social Media Ambassador position is a convenient, remote volunteer opportunity that can be done by anyone who has access to a personal social media account and is looking to support the organization’s mission. Social Media Ambassadors play a crucial role by expanding Turnip Green Creative Reuse’s online presence on outlets such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to gain a larger network of supporters, and in turn, taking a stand for the environment, the arts, and youth.

TGCR’s mission is fostering creativity and sustainability through reuse. We believe everyone deserves access to education & materials, and recognize that everyone deserves the opportunity for a creative experience, and to be inspired in a safe and welcoming community. Through our education programs, retail space, Green Galleries, and open studios, we have diverted over half of a million pounds of materials from the landfill and connected those materials with students, teachers, and artists who need them. Exposure is vital to the programs we provide at Turnip Green Creative Reuse, and is how we gain volunteers, receive donations, attract customers, and expand our educational outreach. We believe that through Social Media Ambassadors, we can reach a wider audience, increasing awareness and participation within our community.

The purpose of our Social Media Ambassador program is to increase TGCR’s visibility, encourage volunteerism, and promote sustainability and creativity in our community. A Social Media Ambassador helps by posting, sharing, favoriting, sending invites, liking, and commenting on our social media on a regular basis, remotely and on their own schedule. Anyone who has access to a personal social media account and would like to support TGCR’s mission can be a Turnip Green Creative Reuse Social Media Ambassador. Although it may not seem like much, the intentional engagement of a few dedicated Social Media Ambassadors does wonders for our visibility, engagement, and community awareness.
