Nashville Dolphins Special Needs Swim Lessons Winter 2021 (Wednesdays & Fridays)

The Nashville Dolphins provide free swim lessons to children and adults with special needs. We could not provide free lessons to our swimmers without help from volunteers in our community like you. This rewarding experience will change your life.

There will be a temperature check at the door and masks must be worn inside the building. Volunteers will be in the water and will wear a face shield (provided). Volunteers will be assigned a swimmer and will have guidance from lead instructors who will also be ln the pool. No previous experience is necessary. We will train you!

These lessons will be on Wednesdays from 4:45 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. and on Fridays from 4:45 p.m. until 5:45 p.m.  (Classes are 30-minute sessions).

The dates are:
February 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, and 26
March 3, 5, 10, 12, 24, 26, and 31 (no class 3/17 or 3/19)
April 7, 9, 14, and 16 (no class 4/2)

Once you express interest we will be in touch with more details.

In accordance with Mayor John Cooper’s Roadmap for Reopening Nashville, Hands On Nashville recommends the following guidelines for volunteering:

Individuals belonging to the following groups should not volunteer for in-person opportunities: ages 65 and up, those with elevated health risk or compromised immune systems, anyone who is feeling unwell (or who has been exposed to/is caring for someone who is sick or has a compromised immune system).

Volunteers who attend projects should take recommended precautions, including maintaining distances between themselves and other people; practicing hand-washing and sanitation of spaces; wearing gloves, masks, and other protective gear; etc. As always, consult a medical professional should you begin to feel unwell at any point during or after a project.

If you decide not to attend a project, please log in to hon.org and remove yourself from the opportunity ahead of time so that another volunteer may have a chance to fill your slot. If you have any trouble with this, email hon@hon.org and we’ll be happy to help!

Please be aware that your project may be canceled with short notice. Projects are subject to change depending on shifting guidelines and circumstances. We appreciate your understanding
