Community Volunteer Leader Training

Hands On Nashville helps the community by supplying volunteers to nonprofits, civic agencies, and the city when disaster strikes. Since we are a small team, we need a trained cadre of volunteer leaders that are ready to jump in and lead volunteer projects when we are short-staffed or when big needs crop up quickly (like floods or mass vaccinations!)

In order to fulfill this critical role, we’ve developed a free volunteer leader training course that will give you the basic skills needed to:

  • Provide leadership and organization to volunteer groups
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Model excellent customer service
  • Coordinate logistics like sign-in, parking, and volunteer job assignments
  • Be a liaison and ambassador for Hands On Nashville
  • Keep volunteers safe and happy

Please join us for this virtual training and you’ll stand ready to lead whenever duty calls! This will be an interactive class, so come ready to be on camera and participate. Additional trainings will be offered on disaster-specific topics to those that successfully complete this course.

As Nashville continues to reopen, Hands On Nashville hopes you will come out and volunteer with one of our terrific partner organizations. Please note any projects, gathering limits, and safety protocols put in place are at the discretion of our partner organizations.

  • Please see Mayor John Cooper’s Road for Reopening Nashville here

  • Please see current CDC COVID recommendation here

We have asked our partners to update their posting language to reflect their current COVID guidelines. If you have any questions in general, or you don’t see details, you can reach out to the opportunity coordinator via the link next to their name below.

With that being said, we acknowledge that everyone has their own comfort level with regards to being out in the world with respect to the current pandemic. If you go to a project, and feel unsafe, please speak to on-site representative and let HON know – your feedback is invaluable and we work to keep everyone safe while meeting urgent needs in the community.

The opportunity date and time you are looking for is no longer available.
