Nature Center Garden Help

If you love getting your hands in the dirt and tending to the garden, then join us for garden maintenance at the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center community garden! We'll be planting herbs, weeding, and tending to existing plants. This event will take place outdoors. All supplies will be provided on-site.

The Nature Center Community Garden is an oasis for native pollinators, birds, and various other critters. Tending to this garden provides these insects and animals with food, nectar, shelter, and space to lay eggs for future generations.

The work will take place outside, in the sun. Hats and sunscreen are always a good idea. Water fountains and restrooms are located in the nature center, right beside the community garden.

If you sign up for this event, you will receive an email a few days prior with additional information regarding parking, specific meeting location, etc.

Founded in 2008, the Friends of Shelby is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, and promotion of Shelby Park and Shelby Bottoms. It works to protect the natural and historical integrity of the area by supporting appropriate recreational activities, maintaining and enhancing its features, promoting programs that inspire appreciation and conservation of Park and Bottoms, and advocating for a level playing field for the various user groups.
