Opportunity Details

Angel Tree - Family Distribution

The Salvation Army needs volunteers to assist in distributing gifts to the Angel Tree families. The families will come to our warehouse beginning on December 17th and we need volunteers to assist in locating their gifts and helping them take the gifts to their cars. You may also assist with some final checking of angel bags and begin packing up the warehouse for the season. Dates are currently Dec. 17-22nd (with the exception of Sunday, Dec. 19th).

This year, distribution will be a drive through event where families never leave their cars. Volunteers will bring gifts right out to their car and place in the trunk or back seat.

The Salvation Army, a faith-based nonprofit serving Nashville since 1890, extends a resourceful hand of assistance to families in greatest need without discrimination, so that they may lift themselves from crisis to stability and independence. An international movement, it is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Nashville Salvation Army Center of Hope is a Christian Ministry, transforming lives by empowering individuals through Faith in Christ, Hope in themselves, and Love for others.

Covid-19 protocols will be followed. At this time, masks will be required - this could change based on current Covid-19 statistics for our area at the time of the activity. Social distancing will be utilized as much as possible in the warehouse setting.
