CHOICE Food Pantry #UWGN’
Nashville CARES is in need of monthly volunteers to pack food in our food pantry. Clients can come into our offices, fill out a menu of various food items they would like to receive (anything from pantry goods, to produce, to eggs), and volunteers pack their food bags for them. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like some direct, hands on, service opportunities!
For anyone living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS, Nashville CARES is the premier HIV/AIDS agency in the region. We provide comprehensive education, a broad range of targeted services and effective advocacy, all in a highly personal, confidential, and compassionate manner.
Many of our clients who are food insecure need your help! See below for details:
- Volunteers must commit to volunteering either the 2nd or 4th (or both) Wednesday of every month from 9am-1pm.
- Must be able to stand for most of that time, and lift heavy items (boxes of produce, filled grocery bags, etc).
- Must have excellent customer services skills and ability to treat all clients with warmth and respect!
- Follow COVID safety procedures: you will be required to follow safety procedures, and to be aware of the risk factors of COVID. This is to assure our clients, who are immunocompromised, stay happy and healthy!
- This volunteer role requires you to fill out an application, be interviewed, attend an orientation, and pass a background check.
