Opportunity Details

Weed Wrangle at Bells Bend Park

Bells Bend park will host a Weed Wrangle to help our park's native plants thrive! We will remove exotic and invasive plants from various areas around Bells Bend Park, creating room for natives to grow and flourish.

Volunteers should dress in layers appropriate for the weather (hat, gloves, waterproof shoes).  Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and long pants and have long sleeves.  Volunteers should bring gloves and water.

Bells Bend Park is located in western Davidson County, this park takes its name from a peaceful arc of the Cumberland River known as Bells Bend. This rural preserve is defined by its agricultural history, its bountiful opportunities for viewing wildlife, and a landscape shaped by the river. The impact of this work is that we will remove invasive and exotic plants from various areas of the park to make room for native species to flourish.

Weed Wrangle® is a city and state-wide volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants. Weed Wrangle®-Nashville volunteers will learn, practice, and begin a habit of maintaining an area free of invasive plants. By engaging our neighbors and challenging them to take action in their own spaces, we hope to create a movement that will have the greatest impact on the invasive plant population in the Nashville area.
