Adults Age 55+ to Tutor Elementary School Students
FiftyForward's popular Friends Learning in Pairs (FLIP) tutoring program is seeking adults age 55+ to provide academic (reading and literacy, numeracy and math development skills) and social emotional support to elementary school students in Nashville area schools.
- FLIP volunteers serve as tutors at partner schools and are an important part of helping students succeed in school and life.
- FLIP tutors serve once or twice a week for approximately 2 hours at a time, meeting one-on-one with up to 4 students.
- FiftyForward provides training and materials.
- FLIP tutors must complete an in-person interview, on-line background check, and training session prior to placement in a school.
FiftyForward FLIP is an affiliate of AmeriCorps Seniors, the federal agency connecting individuals and organizations through service and volunteering.
