Lunchmate Mentoring Program
Preston Taylor Ministries is an afterschool and mentoring program that provides several avenues for building life-changing relationships in the at-risk, low-income Preston Taylor community. In PTM's lunchmate mentoring program, volunteers are matched with a student for weekly lunch visits at their school cafeterias, fostering a mentoring "joy-filled friendship".
PTM currently has around 125 mentor + student matches, with a student waiting list that is always growing. The day of the week that a volunteer visits his/her "lunch buddy" can fluctuate week-to-week, and PTM's programming runs on the metro school calendar.
