Organization Profile

Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center

https://www.waynereedchildcare.org

The mission of the Wayne Reed Christian Childcare Center is to provide a source of hope for the families we serve. WRCCC serves up to 50 children, ages one to four, from 6:30 to 5:30, five days per week, year round. Not simply a daycare, WRCCC is a school where learning begins at age 1. Aided by a well-trained staff and committed volunteers, the center works to jumpstart low-income children for public school so that they enter school on a level playing field with their suburban peers. WRCCC knows the odds: A child who starts behind stays behind, and eventually drops out. WRCCC believes in bucking those odds, refusing to let our children join what Marian Wright Edelman of the Children’s Defense Fund calls “the cradle-to-prison pipeline.” We are motivated by our success as we see what hope is doing in the lives of these children and families.
