MLK Jr. Day of Service with The Nashville Food Project
Join The Nashville Food Project for a special day of service in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr!
Participants will join us at our headquarters for coffee and a short program featuring Simba the Poet before being assigned to one of three service opportunities in the area (either garden service or meal prep tasks). Participants will engage in service opportunities led by TNFP staff. All activities support TNFP's mission of community food security.
This day of service is open to people of all abilities. Please contact Elizabeth below for accommodation information and arrangements!
Following service opportunities, all participants will share in a community meal prepared by the kitchens of The Nashville Food Project.
Day of Service Schedule:
9-10 AM Coffee, Welcome and Opening Program with a performance by Simba the Poet
10 AM-Noon Meal Prep and Garden Service
Noon-1:00 PM Lunch and Closing Reflections
We ask that participants plan to be available for the entirety of the time listed. All participants should wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable work clothing and bring a water bottle. Any long hair should be pulled back throughout the day of service for health and safety.
