Write letters to seniors and disabled adults #VirtualVolunteer
Help us bring some cheer to isolated seniors, seniors in nursing homes and/or disabled individuals in our communities during this time of social isolation. They may have to stay in isolation much longer than the rest of us, so sending them some letters, letting them know that we care and haven't forgotten about them, is important. We are looking for uplifting letters that will bring their recipients some joy!
If you are interested in sending letters and/or art to seniors in the community, please sign up below and I will contact you with specific instructions for the letters and the address to send them to. Children are welcome to contribute their artwork also.
PLEASE NOTE: You do not necessarily have to write all your letters in the exact time frame you sign up for, if a different time of day is more convenient, just sign up for a shift so you can get the info, but do the actual writing at a different time. We are looking to have this round of letters completed and mailed to their recipients by 5/31/2020.
Volunteers will be required to have their own materials for the letters and any additional art work you'd like to add, as well as stamps to mail the letters on hand (or you must be able to take them to the post office).
Please allow 48 hours for me to get back to you with the instructions. Be prepared to let me know how many letters you would like to write.
