Weed Wrangle at Belle Forest Cave with TennGreen Land Conservancy
TennGreen Land Conservancy will host a one-day Weed Wrangle to pull invasive species at Belle Forest Cave Arboretum. We will be removing, in particular, an abundance of small privet, which have grown after large privets have been removed. We also will be clearing land from debris to make space for planting native trees and shrubs.
TennGreen Land Conservancy is the oldest accredited statewide land trust in Tennessee. TennGreen's mission is to conserve land where people and nature can thrive. The Weed Wrangle event will help decrease the spread of invasive non-native species and provide support for native plants to thrive.
- Volunteers should bring their own work gloves and are encouraged to bring shovels, pickaxe, loppers, and weed pullers, if available.
- Please wear appropriate gardening and weed pulling attire, including long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and dress in layers appropriate to the temperature.
- Please bring any personal supplies you might want, such as water and a snack.
Weed Wrangle®, is a one-day, citywide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants.
