Weed Wrangle at the Native American Cultural Center of NAIA TN
Weedy plants will be pulled from the six acre grounds of the future Circle of Life Indian Cultural Center. Native plants also will be planted that day.
This event will help prepare the grounds for the future Circle of Life Indian Cultural Center. This Center will the first in Tennessee, since the brutal and forced removal of Native people from our state in the 1830's. This event will help to make the grounds of the Cultural Center more accessible and education for people who come to visit the Center and also walk the trails around the grounds.
The ground is uneven and there are multiple tripping hazards. Volunteers should wear closed toe shoes and long pants. Volunteers should bring work gloves and if possible loppers, shovels, hand pruners, and garbage bags. Volunteers should bring their own water bottles and snacks.
Weed Wrangle®, is a one-day, citywide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants.
