Weed Wrangle at Shelby Bottoms

Shelby Park and Bottoms is pleased to offer two opportunities for Weed Wrangle. Both shifts will meet at the tennis court parking lot at Shelby Community Center.

Please join us for the removal of invasive plant species from Shelby Park. We will be using tools to remove medium to large invasive plants from the forest, and then cutting them into small piles for decomposition. All necessary tools, gloves, and water will be provided Heavy tools will be used on uneven terrain. Some tools are sharp and meant for cutting -- there will be a safety demonstration at the start of the event.

All volunteers are asked to wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe shoes (hiking and gardening shoes work well). Long sleeves can be helpful but are not required. Please also remember sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen) and a reusable water bottle.
Parking: Both Shifts: Meet Friends of Shelby at the Tennis Court parking lot located at the Shelby Park Community Center Tennis Courts.
