At The Next Door, the people, the program, and the place all contribute to helping women who are re-entering society from incarceration, rehabilitation, or homelessness. Our mission is to address the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of women in crisis, equipping them for lives of wholeness and hope. Our Residential Transition Center is located at 128 Eighth Avenue South. Women enter a six-month planned curriculum accompanied by recovery support services to address issues of co-occurring disorders of addiction and mental illness. The Freedom Recovery Community is our 20-unit apartment complex at 2100 Clifton Avenue, Nashville. We provide safe affordable living for women and their children. The unique feature of the FRC is the on-site access to services for co-occurring disorders, counseling, parenting classes, and early drug prevention classes for children. Treatment Services are offered for uninsured women with co-occurring disorders who have recently relapsed. Services include intensive outpatient treatment, clinical stabilization, outpatient case management, and individual and group counseling. We offer Exodus, a program for women currently incarcerated at the Tennessee Prison for Women. Exodus helps reduce recidivism rates by helping women transition successfully back into the community.
