Mayor Barry's Citywide Spring Clean

Dates: 04/22/2017 - 04/22/2017

NOTE: Due to flooding and heavy rains, the Citywide Spring Clean was postponed. Rescheduled projects are being posted as dates are confirmed. Thank you for volunteering to keep Nashville clean!

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than helping spruce up Nashville neighborhoods? Join us on April 22, for Nashville's Citywide Spring Clean event! Volunteers are needed to clean waterways and collect litter across the city.

The Mayor’s Citywide Spring Clean is an annual partnership between the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhoods and Community Engagement, Metro Public Works Beautification Division, Comcast, Hands On Nashville, Cumberland River Compact and the YMCA of Middle Tennessee where teams work together and pick up litter in neighborhoods, roadways and streams. Last year, the efforts of this partnership resulted in 94 clean-ups and over 80,000 pounds of litter and illegal dumping picked up from Nashville's streets, alleys and streams.

Let’s Move!
Volunteer hours associated with this project support the “Let’s Move! Outside” initiative, a nationwide effort to provide opportunities for young people to work, learn, play, and serve outdoors and on public lands. This effort is made possible through partnership between the YMCA of the USA, the Department of the Interior, American Express, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, Nashville’s Mayor Megan Barry, and Hands On Nashville.
